The 2017 Friends of Galena Library pre-owned book sale will be held at the Galena Convention Center on Friday, July 28, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, July 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funds raised at the book sale are used to provide items not covered by the Library’s operating budget, such as computer enhancements, adult and children’s programs, large print books, audio books and the Galena Little Free Libraries.
If you would like to get a start on your spring cleaning, the Friends suggest that you consider donating your books for the annual sale. Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 1, they will be accepting children and adult books in good condition, DVDs, and books on CD. Materials not included in the sale are textbooks, computer manuals, Readers’ Digest books, magazines, encyclopedias, business books and cassette and VHS tapes. Books can be dropped off in the lower level of the Galena Public Library.
