Books for Babies

The Friends of Galena Public Library, Inc. have an outreach program called “Books for Babies”. When the Friends discover there a new baby was born in the Galena Public Library District, a congratulatory postcard is sent to the parents.  This entitles the parents to a “Books for Babies” gift tote.  The gift includes a cloth tote, a bib embroidered with the words “Read to Me”, a baby’s first book, several informative guides for parents, a refrigerator magnet with the Library hours, and baby’s first Library card.   The parents just need to bring the postcard to the Library’s check out desk and pick up their gift.

Members of the Hills HCE unit and member of the “Sew and So’s” have made the tote bags for the program.  Connie Allendorf, a Friends’ member, embroiders the bibs.
